New squad numbers allocated for 5 Orlando City SC signings

With just over ONE month to go until Orlando City SC’s second ever Major League Soccer campaign begins, five of the Lions’ off-season purchases have now officially received their new squad numbers.

Canadian youngster Richie Laryea will wear squad number 6 after Adrian Heath claimed this past week that he’s already seen a bit of Kevin Molino in the Lions’ 7th MLS SuperDraft selection.

Tony Cascio was the last to wear this number although he failed to make a single appearance in MLS last season.

Bad superstitions clearly don’t bother the Lions after thirteenth pick Hadji Barry adopted usually unlucky squad number 13 while the club’s newest recruit – Honduras youth international Devron Garcíawill don 16 after Corey Ashe‘s departure at the end of last season.

Although Mason Stajduhar is expected to be playing much of his football with Anthony Pulis’ Orlando City B this term, the 18-year-old claims squad number 25 in Heath’s first team while seasoned MLS campaigner Kevin Alston will wear jersey number 12 last worn by Eric Avila.

According to the Orlando City SC player’s page, Joe Bendik still awaits official confirmation of his squad number although it is anticipated that he will be number 1.

The good news is that the likes of Kaká, Cyle Larin and Brek Shea will of course be retaining numbers 10, 21 and 20 for the forthcoming 2016 season so you don’t have to freak out that your recently ordered jersey might be out of date!
