Winning 15 caps with the senior Italian national side between 2007 and 2012, while missing out on representing the Azzurri at a World Cup, Nocerino was part of Cesare Prandelli’s side that finished runners-up at Euro 2012 however.

An unused substitute in the Kiev final whereby Spain romped home to a  4-0 victory, Nocerino was competing in a talented squad that also included Claudio Marchisio, Daniele De Rossi, Riccardo Montolivo and of course Andrea Pirlo – now of New York City FC – in midfield.

By signing a player who has been in and around the top level of European football for a  long while now, Orlando City SC will only benefit from his experience.
