A day after Aurélien Collin was traded to New York Red Bulls, it appears Orlando City SC are making moves to sign his replacement with 25-year-old Irish centre back Gavin Gunning being lined up.
As reported by the Evening Telegraph, Gunning has already been told he can leave Scottish Premier League outfit Dundee United with the defender having spent a week-long trial with Adrian Heath’s Lions after falling out of favour with Mixu Paatelainen. Continue reading
Waking up on Thursday morning (UK time), Twitter was awash with the news that Orlando City SC are parting ways with Aurélien Collin who will be joining New York Red Bulls.
As confirmed by Brian Lewis of the New York Post, Jesse March’s Red Bulls are acquiring the French centre back in exchange for a fourth round pick in the 2017 draft. Continue reading
So after 7 games played this 2016 Major League Soccer season, Orlando City SC currently sit on nine points with two games won, two games drawn and two games lost.
Humbled on the road last time out at New York Red Bulls, Adrian Heath‘s Lions will be looking to get back to winning ways up the Eastern Seaboard at New England Revolution this Saturday evening (Sunday 00:30 in the UK). Continue reading
Orlando; you’ve only gone and done it again haven’t you!?
Another fantastic moment of history was etched into Citrus Bowl folklore yesterday evening as Tom Sermanni‘s Orlando Pride sealed their FIRST EVER victory in NWSL.
Emerging 3-1 victors over Houston Dash in front of a league record 23,403 supporters in Central Florida, this wonderful support yet again underlined The City Beautiful as the true Soccer Capital of the South! Continue reading
Having ran our first ever Orlando City UK Watch Party right here in the UK in London last Sunday evening when Orlando City SC welcomed New England Revolution, it was an amazing experience to meet fellow Lions supporters right here in England.
And this got us thinking!
With Sky Sports showing plenty of Lions fixtures throughout the duration of the Major League Soccer campaign nowadays, people are getting hooked on Orlando City SC, just like ourselves! Continue reading
We’ve only just settled down since the shenanigans of Orlando City SC’s most recent Major League Soccer fixture at the Citrus Bowl in which stoppage time was a frantic affair yet again.
Baldomero Toledo has been a swear word within the city of Orlando for a week now after the PRO Referee WRONGLY adjudged Servando Carrasco to have handled Lee Nguyen’s cross-shot in basically the final play of the match to hand New England Revolution a penalty that should never have been. Continue reading
Did we witness the worst call so far this season in Major League Soccer on Sunday?
Well, the Orlando City SC fraternity seem to think so after what can only be described as a downright case of peer pressure on Baldomero Toledo.
Awarding New England Revolution a last gasp penalty after an ALLEGED handball from Servando Carrasco that ACTUALLY hit his shoulder, Lee Nguyen successfully converted the spot kick to salvage a 2-2 draw at the Citrus Bowl. Continue reading
So it was heartbreak in Philly for our Lions!
Tranquillo Barnetta’s simply inch-perfect free-kick in the 90th minute subjected Adrian Heath‘s Orlando City SC to a first loss in Major League Soccer this 2016 season with Philadelphia Union running out 2-1 winners last Friday following Adrian Winter‘s first-half equaliser.
But with the past being the past, let’s move on with Orlando City SC returning to the Citrus Bowl on Sunday to welcome Jay Heaps’ New England Revolution of the Eastern Conference who sit one point below the Lions on seven points after gameweek six. Continue reading
If you thought the Orlando City SC fraternity was big, it’s about to get even bigger because the Orlando Pride will be officially kicking off their inaugural season on Sunday evening (U.S. time) / Monday evening (U.K. time) against the Portland Thorns in NWSL.
It will be an incredibly proud moment for the city of Orlando once again with Tom Sermanni‘s side set to experience the emotions that we all did when our Lions took to the pitch against New York City FC at the Citrus Bowl back on March 8th, 2015.
And this week, Orlando Pride fans were introduced with their new season tickets! Continue reading
What a difference a few weeks can make!
After disappointingly only picking up two points from two home games at the start of the season against both Real Salt Lake and Chicago Fire, it’s all change for Adrian Heath‘s Orlando City SC.
With our Lions rising to the very summit of the MLS Eastern Conference after gameweek five (fourth game for City), courtesy of a rousing 4-1 victory over reigning MLS Cup champions Portland Timbers last time out, morale is high right now. Continue reading
