Just twelve days after Adrian Heath’s dismissal as Orlando City SC head coach, Jason Kreis was officially announced as his successor on Wednesday.
Only the second permanent manager the Lions have ever had of course, Kreis arrives in Central Florida following a short stint at expansion rivals New York City FC last season.
Keeping busy in an assistant coach’s role with the U.S. Men’s National Team since then, it’s Jason Kreis‘ former successes with Real Salt Lake that have ultimately earned him the top job in Orlando.

Securing an MLS Cup Championship with Real Salt Lake in 2009 before winning the Western Conference title with the Utah side in 2013, Orlando City SC were in need of a coach with vast MLS experience and Kreis has that in abundance.

Running a poll with Lions supporters only yesterday when speculation over Jason Kreis‘ appointment was rife, Orlando City UK found 63% of voters were in favour of the 42-year-old succeeding Adrian Heath while 37% were against it.
