He spent an eight-year association with Orlando City SC that originally started in Austin and today, Lions legend Adrian Heath was named head coach of 2017 MLS expansion franchise Minnesota United.

The Loons have quickly swooped to hire the 55-year-old Englishman who enjoyed such a triumphant spell in charge of Orlando City SC.

Winning two USL Pro League titles, three Commissioner’s Cups and the USL Pro Coach of the Year award twice within just a three-year timeframe, Heath also oversaw Orlando City SC‘s successful transition into Major League Soccer in 2015.

Parting ways with City back in July ahead of Jason Kreis‘ arrival, the new role at TCF Bank Stadium is Adrian Heath‘s eighth separate spell as a manager and the Minneapolis-based franchise are delighted with their capture.

Minnesota United sporting director Manny Lagos claimed: “I firmly believe that Adrian is the best choice to lead this club into our first year in MLS and beyond.”

“His experience in Orlando City, helping that organisation grow and build the right way and the way he immersed himself in the fanbase and in the community was a critical factor in making this decision,” continued Lagos.

Orlando City UK wants to take this moment to wish Inchy the very best of luck at Minnesota United, except in meetings against our beloved Orlando City SC of course!

With transfer rumours set to ensue over exactly who Heath may look to bring to MNUFC, Orlando City SC midfielder and son, Harrison Heath took to Twitter to congratulate his old man this evening.
