With just 22 days left to go until Orlando City SC’s Major League Soccer opener against Real Salt Lake on March 6th, today the Lions build on their pre-season preparations by travelling upstate to face Jacksonville Armada of the NASL.
Having opened their pre-season account in routine style with a 4-0 win over Eastern Florida State College last weekend, there will be a step up in quality today and furthermore on Saturday February 27th when Adrian Heath‘s men go up against Brazilian outfit Bahia at the Citrus Bowl.
What’s more, a collection of Orlando City SC reserves and Orlando City B players will also be taking to the field against the UFC Knights a day later on Sunday 28th February as confirmed in the Orlando Sentinel recently.
We of course saw the Lions release their new 2016 away jersey in midweek as part of an open practice session for season ticket holders and with that event now passed, it’s back to business on the field in what is expected to be a feisty encounter at Community First Park.
While the game against Eastern Florida State College would have primarily revolved around building fitness, while that’s of course a goal for today’s challenge as well, no Orlando City SC fan will want the team to surrender any bragging rights to an in-state rival.
It’s fair to say that in the Orlando City SC Twittersphere of late, things have been getting a little spicy on social media between the two fanbases so we should be in for a treat on the field!
But what five things can we look out for in today’s pre-season friendly against the Armada?
