Whether we like it or not (well, we hate it!), Jacksonville Armada are now officially the first team from Florida to have inflicted defeat on Orlando City SC.
Yesterday evening, the NASL outfit completed a rousing second half comeback following Kaká‘s 32nd minute opener in an eventual 2-1 win that marked the Lions’ second friendly fixture of pre-season.
Safe to say it was a classic case of a solid first half at Community First Park and then too many substitutions causing the team to become disjointed in the second on a field used primarily for baseball.
As Adrian Heath alluded to in his post-match press conference, on the whole he was pleased with the team’s efforts given the fact the game was primarily about fitness despite City fans craving a win against an in-state rival.
Speaking to the Orlando Sentinel, Heath claimed: “It was a good game for us. Really pleased with the first-half performance, I thought there were a lot of positives.
“Considering we’re only two weeks in, I was really pleased with some of the stuff.”
So with Lions fans having to take their fair share of banter on social media from Armada supporters right now, let us take this moment to reflect on the finest piece of action from the Lions’ point of view – Kaká‘s superb free-kick opener!
