In case you’d been living on Mars in the last couple of days, you’ll now know that Italian midfielder Antonio Nocerino is finally coming to Orlando City SC this month.
In a transfer saga that has twisted and turned more times than we care to remember, news of Nocerino’s arrival in Central Florida has come straight from the horses’ mouth.
Yes, AC Milan vice president Adriano Galliani confirmed this week that Nocerino will be linking up with the Lions with young hopeful Manuel Locatelli taking his place in the Rossoneri first team.
If the truth be told, Adrian Heath‘s pursuit of Nocerino has been scutinised by many Lions supporters this off-season.
The former Italian international’s arrival has not seen as a necessity this winter with both Cristian Higuita and Darwin Cerén having already established a successful central midfield partnership in MLS last term.
Nevertheless, injuries and international call-ups proved the Lions’ Achilles heel in the mid-point of the last Major League Soccer campaign and Nocerino will bring extra squad depth, a wealth of experience, not to mention quality distribution out of the central area.
But what else should you know about the Lions’ impending high profile purchase?
