First and foremost, Antonio Nocerino is a deep-lying midfielder by trade but this isn’t the be all and end all to his game.
Part of the reason that the 30-year-old inherited the iconic number 8 jersey from Gattuso was the fact that he’s a tenacious competitor who can be utilised as a box-to-box midfielder as well.
Having also appeared as an attacking midfielder as well as being utilised on the flanks in his time at the San Siro, Nocerino is crucially a versatile customer.
