Orlando City SC are currently taking a look at Stoke City defender Dionatan Teixeira who has arrived in Central Florida as part of a trial spell with the Lions.
The 23-year-old Brazilian-born centre back has actually represented Slovakia at Under-21 level but hasn’t made a breakthrough at the Britannia Stadium since signing from Dukla Banská Bystrica in 2014.
Experiencing a foot injury in his first season with the Potters, Dionatan Teixeira saw no action in 2014/15 but did at least get some regular minutes on the field in English football this past 2015/16 campaign.
Having been sent out on loan to Fleetwood Town from Stoke City at the start of October 2015, Dionatan Teixeira went on to feature 10 times for the Cod Army who went on to survive in League One with a 19th from 24 finish this term.
Adrian Heath‘s Lions are of course still on the hunt for an additional centre back following Aurélien Collin’s transfer to New York Red Bulls last month.
Having already taken a look at Irish centre back Gavin Gunning recently, it appears the club are now turning their attention elsewhere.
What’s more, Orlando City SC also only recently announced their new affiliation with Stoke City so in the case of Dionatan Teixeira arriving on trial from the Potters, it would appear this arrangement is in full swing.
