Heading to Yankee Stadium to take on New York City FC this Sunday, Orlando City SC will be wearing a special one-off jersey to commemorate Earth Day.

Also taking place in partnership with MLS’s Greener Goals Initiative, Adidas have designed a white bespoke Orlando City SC jersey made with Parley Ocean Plastic.

With New York City FC also sporting a silver custom-made Parley jersey in Sunday’s Major League Soccer fixture, its a diversion from the unmistakable sky blue and purple colour schemes these clubs are founded upon.

Aiming to raise greater awareness about marine plastic pollution that has been threatening the Indian Ocean, Sunday’s custom-made Orlando City SC jerseys have been made from marine plastic intercepted by Parley ocean clean-up schemes in the Maldives.

Also taking part in the initiative are both LA Galaxy and Seattle Sounders who face each other in a Western Conference clash that follows on from Orlando City SC‘s trip to New York City FC on Sunday night.

Not going on sale to the public, the Parley Orlando City SC jersey is sure to become one of the most sought-after pieces of City merchandise around. It remains to be seen whether the Lions will be auctioning off the game-worn jerseys following Sunday’s fixture.

Mostly white, the Parley Orlando City SC jersey features a grey trim on the sleeves with the same shade of grey used for the three vertical Adidas stripes on either side of the jersey as well as a patterned watermark beneath the neck.

Our Orlando Health sponsor is cast in purple and there is also an Adidas Parley jock tag in the bottom left hand corner of the jersey.

Very similar to Vancouver Whitecaps’ 2016 home jersey that incorporated Cascadia’s proud peaks as a frosted watermark, both Giles Barnes and Cyle Larin modelled the Parley Orlando City SC jersey at Orlando City Stadium earlier today.
