Former New York City FC winger Tony Taylor is currently on trial with Orlando City SC having appeared in a behind closed doors friendly against River Plate yesterday.

As referenced by a tweet from @NYCFCNation this afternoon, the 28-year-old attacker was pictured in purple as he aimed to impress onlookers at Orlando City Stadium.

No stranger to Florida having spent time with the South Florida Bulls and Jacksonville Dolphins during his youth career, Tony Taylor’s first professional club was Central Florida Kraze.

Interestingly enough, Central Florida Kraze was actually the 1999-2011 name for the team that eventually became Orlando City U23.

Not only that but Tony Taylor also played under Jason Kreis during his spell as New York City FC head coach back in 2015,

A well travelled player, the Long Beach, California native was most recently playing for Portuguese Primeira Liga side F.C. Paços de Ferreira in 2017.

Tony Taylor has also played for Estoril Praia, Atlético Clube de Portugal, AC Omonia, New England Revolution as well as New York City FC – his last Major League Soccer club.

Following Dom Dwyer’s return to Orlando City SC yesterday, the Lions could definitely do with another wide player – exactly what Tony Taylor is.

After releasing Matías Pérez García and never truly replacing Kevin Molino‘s goals, Taylor’s trial suggests Orlando City SC are keen to strengthen this position next.

We’ll realise very soon whether Tony Taylor did enough to catch Orlando City SC‘s eye.
