A free agent since his contract option was declined at Orlando City SC in November 2016, Júlio Baptista could be set for a surprise switch to Bolton Wanderers.
That is according to a recent report from the Daily Star who claim the Trotters are in talks with the 35-year-old former Brazil international.
Scoring six goals in 23 MLS appearances for Orlando City SC, the man affectionately known as ‘The Beast’ was a useful bit-part option for the Lions in 2016.
Surprisingly let go by Orlando City SC when many saw the benefits in maintaining him on the roster, Júlio Baptista was recently involved in the Star Sixes tournament in London last month.
With the former Sevilla, Real Madrid, Arsenal, Roma and Málaga man recently in the UK, Bolton Wanderers appear to have pounced on the opportunity.
Promoted back to the English Championship last season, Phil Parkinson’s side could really benefit from having a striker of Júlio Baptista‘s experience on the books.
