Dom Dwyer has enjoyed a simply mesmerising 2017 and last night, the 26-year-old’s year got even better with an equalising goal against Real Madrid in the 2017 MLS All-Star Game.
Scoring against arguably the world’s biggest football club, Dom Dwyer is living on cloud nine right now.
This goal came only a week after he was greeted by hundreds of adoring Orlando City SC fans at Orlando International Airport.
After Borja Mayoral had given Zinedine Zidane’s side the lead on 59 minutes at Soldier Field, Chicago, Real Madrid were sneaking towards a 0-1 victory.
This was until our man Dom Dwyer had his say!
Poaching in Los Blancos’ goalmouth in the 87th minute, the Orlando City SC striker glanced a close range header beyond sub goalkeeper Luca Zidane (son of Zinedine) to take the 2017 MLS All-Star Game into extra-time.
Unfortunately, Dom Dwyer missed his spot-kick when facing Luca Zidane in the penalty shootout but you can’t have everything, aye?
Orlando City UK would like to congratulate Dom Dwyer on his landmark goal against Real Madrid! [*INSERT APPLAUSE EMOJI*]
Not many MLS players get to say that too often!
