So Kaká‘s Orlando City SC career is just two games from its conclusion after the 35-year-old announced he won’t be renewing his Lions contract today.
Originally signing for the club in July 2014, Kaká is departing Central Florida without an MLS Cup or even MLS Cup qualification but a reputation for helping grow our club into a global brand.

Scoring 24 MLS goals in three seasons as an Orlando City SC player, Kaká‘s influence has waned on the pitch but it cannot be underestimated what he’d done for our team and Major League Soccer as a whole.
Arriving in Orlando as one of the world’s most recognisable footballers and a former Ballon d’Or winner at that, Kaká always boasted the ability to turn heads.
A quality footballer and person too, it was certainly a thrill to call Kaká a member of our team since his incredible unveiling on a bustling Church Street back in 2014.
Shortly before the announcement, Orlando City UK polled Orlando City SC supporters on what Kaká‘s decision would be.
With around 3️⃣0️⃣ minutes to go until the announcement is made, what do YOU think will happen with Kaká!? 🤔#OCSC #MLS

Overwhelmingly, the majority believed he would retire so it will be interesting to see what the near future holds for Kaká the player and whether he will stay in MLS.
With the Orlando City SC Twittersphere reacting to today’s news right now, Orlando City UK gathered some of the best murmurings…
Kaka leaving Orlando has killed me a little inside… 😭

I still say…a little less drama and a better supporting cast and Kaka would have had a very different MLS legacy. Sad. I will miss him. 💜

Kaka opted not to sign 1-year contract offer. Was significant decrease. Will be interested to see how much budget OCSC has for that DP spot.

Can only go up for OCSC though. 2018 will be good to rebuild

I stood in this room less than 24 hours ago. Today, our biggest signing in club history announced his departure. Unreal. pic.twitter.com/W3i87xgPJ6
