In the biggest roll of the dice for Orlando City SC this off-season, New York Red Bulls captain Sacha Kljestan is joining the Lions in a trade for two Lions stars.
Late on Tuesday evening (UK time), ESPN soccer columnist Jeffrey Carlisle tweeted that Kljestan is joining Jason Kreis‘ side in exchange for both Carlos Rivas and Tommy Redding.
Kljestan to #VamosOrlando is done. Here are the details. https://t.co/1EIGi258Sw #RBNY

Still awaiting official confirmation from Orlando City SC themselves, this seems a imminent after the Orlando Sentinel’s Alicia Rose DelGallo also claimed that Carlisle’s story is correct.
According to Jeffrey Carlisle, Red Bulls have also sent $150,000 in Targeted Allocation Money to Orlando City SC in order to exchange Sacha Kljestan, a veteran of 52 senior international caps for the United States.
With the Orlando City SC Twittersphere currently split on whether this is a good deal for the Lions, there is no doubting that Sacha Kljestan is a direct replacement to help fill the creative void left by the retiring Kaká.
Whether Sacha Kljestan will be a Designated Player or not, this will be decided at a later date following the conclusion of Orlando City SC’s winter transfer business.
Still pending league approval. DP/TAM status will be determined later depending on what other players Orlando City acquires during offseason.
