With just over a month to go until the start of the 2018 Major League Soccer season, most of Orlando City SC‘s winter transfer business is already complete.
However, according to Portuguese source A Bola and corroborated by Twitter handle @MLSTransfers, Spanish midfielder Oriol Rosell is picking up MLS interest, believed to be by Orlando City SC.
Back on January 18th, A Bola claimed an MLS offer was submitted for Oriol Rosell, a defensive midfielder currently playing for Portuguese Primeira Liga club Portimonense on loan from Sporting CP.
The 25-year-old has MLS experience having made 43 appearances for Sporting Kansas City between 2012 and 2014.
Yesterday, respected Twitter source @MLSTransfers had two updates on the situation.
Source: Uri Rosell back to MLS is almost complete. FC Dallas have top allocation pick, still unclear if they want to take him or trade the pick.

Firstly, they tweeted that FC Dallas have a top allocation pick bit it was still unclear whether Óscar Pareja’s side would take Oriol Rosell or trade the pick.
And just like that, an Uri Rossell update. Seems like Orlando City will trade up and take the CDM.

Hot on the heels of this tweet, @MLSTransfers then tweeted that Orlando City SC will trade up and take former Barcelona youth product Oriol Rosell for themselves.
Wearing the nickname “Uri” on the back of his playing jersey, Orlando City UK awaits any further developments to this transfer story.
If there is any correlation, Lions CEO Alex Leitão then made a series of two eyeball emoji tweets, naturally sending Orlando City SC Twitter into a frenzy!
