Tranquillo Barnetta’s simply inch-perfect free-kick in the 90th minute subjected Adrian Heath‘s Orlando City SC to a first loss in Major League Soccer this 2016 season with Philadelphia Union running out 2-1 winners last Friday following Adrian Winter‘s first-half equaliser.

There’s a brand new transfer rumour in the world of Orlando City SC and it concerns former Sevilla and Real Madrid striker Julio Baptista who is allegedly close to joining the Lions.

According to a report from Brazilian publication Globo Esporte, the 34-year-old is a free agent after being released from his contract with Cruzeiro in December and earlier this March, the forward actually trained with Orlando City SC as a guest ahead of further regaining his fitness in Spain. With just 22 days left to go until Orlando City SC’s Major League Soccer opener against Real Salt Lake on March 6th, today the Lions build on their pre-season preparations by travelling upstate to face Jacksonville Armada of the NASL.
Having opened their pre-season account in routine style with a 4-0 win over Eastern Florida State College last weekend, there will be a step up in quality today and furthermore on Saturday February 27th when Adrian Heath‘s men go up against Brazilian outfit Bahia at the Citrus Bowl.
