Study ranks Orlando as ‘best city for soccer fans’

In the week whereby supporters of Costa Rica and Paraguay will descend on Camping World Stadium for the second match of Copa América Centenario, Orlando has ranked top in a recent soccer poll.

Finance specialists WalletHub.com recently ran their ‘2016 Best Cities for Soccer Fans’ study which sampled 296 cities in the United States who boast at least one soccer team, whether professional or college-based. Continue reading

If you thought the Orlando City SC fraternity was big, it’s about to get even bigger because the Orlando Pride will be officially kicking off their inaugural season on Sunday evening (U.S. time) / Monday evening (U.K. time) against the Portland Thorns in NWSL.

It will be an incredibly proud moment for the city of Orlando once again with Tom Sermanni‘s side set to experience the emotions that we all did when our Lions took to the pitch against New York City FC at the Citrus Bowl back on March 8th, 2015.

One in, one out in further Orlando City SC coaching shake-up



In a busy few days for Orlando City SC, the changes keep coming thick and fast this time due to the fact that first team goalkeeping coach Marcos Machado will now join up with the Orlando Pride in the same role while Stewart Kerr has arrived as his replacement.

New assistant coach for Orlando Pride as old MLS stager checks in



There was a big announcement for the Orlando Pride yesterday as it was confirmed by the Orlando Sentinel among other sources that ex-Major League Soccer professional Khano Smith has been appointed assistant coach of the new NWSL franchise.

A well-known name in MLS circles, former Bermuda international Smith represented New England Revolution 100 times in the league while also turning out for the New York Red Bulls back in 2009, not to mention a brief spell in England with Lincoln City as part of a playing career that began back in 2003.
