Orlando City SC to play 14 Sunday fixtures in 2016 MLS campaign

Sunday is a Holy day and Orlando City SC supporters will have to get used to the ritual of attending the Citrus Bowl on a Saturday night hangover after the news that 14 of the Lions’ MLS regular season games for 2016 will be contested on that day.

With all 20 Major League Soccer outfits receiving their regular season schedules on Thursday, we already knew that Adrian Heath’s side would be kicking off the new campaign with a home fixture against Real Salt Lake on Sunday March 6th.

But now, we know that the RSL game will be followed up with another home fixture to Chicago Fire just five days later while the Lions’ first away game of the campaign will be at fellow 2015 expansion side and rival New York City FC at Yankee Stadium on Friday March 18th.
