Since Major League Soccer’s secondary transfer window opened on July 10th, we are yet to witness any new signings for Orlando City SC.
While Lions fans were hung up on a prospective swoop for Juan Fernando Quintero, that move appears dead but there are now two more rumours to chew over.
One concerns Dom Dwyer, the much-loved former City striker and now USMNT star, and the other Zlatko Junuzović, an experienced Austrian international midfielder boasting 52 caps.
But what’s the latest on these two players who would undoubtedly improve an Orlando City SC side who fell out of the 2017 MLS Cup qualification spots after Gameweek 20?
Dom Dwyer: What we know
While Sporting Kansas City boss Peter Vermes frowned upon provocative comments by Adrian Heath when trailing the 26-year-old in 2015, Twellmann claims SKC have engaged the Lions this time around.

Zlatko Junuzović: What we know
According to these reports, the Lions have reportedly offered a three-year deal to the 29-year-old in principle with the Werder Bremen captain having just entered the final year of his contract.
No official offer has been sanctioned however.
The reassuring news is that Orlando City SC do at least appear to be making movements to sign quality attacking reinforcements behind the scenes.
On the face of it, any deal for Junuzović looks unlikely given Werder Bremen have no intention to sell plus there are a number of rivals for his signature including Huddersfield Town, Southampton and Trabzonspor who the player has already rejected.
As for Dwyer, many Orlando City SC fans have long emotionally detached themselves from a potential reunion with the man who helped us win the USL title in 2013.
This is due to Dwyer being settled at SKC since 2012 and having forged a relationship and now family with USWNT star Sydney Leroux.
Not only that but becoming such an indispensable cog for Peter Vermes’ side, having scored 57 goals in 128 MLS appearances for SKC, it would surely take a lot of money to prise him away from their clutches.
Nevertheless, it is no secret that Dwyer loves Florida having played college soccer at the University of South Florida while recently posting an Instagram post surfing with his family in Winter Park.

Only time will tell on that one folks!
