Orlando City SC certainly aren’t wasting time this off-season! Yesterday, journalists César Luis Merlo and Tom Bogert confirmed that City are close to signing Ramiro Enrique from Banfield for around $2 million plus add-ons.
So far, Michael Petrasso, Felipe Martins, Rafael Santos and Martín Ojeda have been recruited this winter. With news of Enrique now too, it’s shaping up to be a super exciting transfer window for Lions supporters.

Who is Ramiro Enrique?
Ramiro Enrique is a 21-year-old Argentine centre forward.
Capable of playing at left wing too, the forward is set to join Orlando City SC from Banfield of the Argentine Primera División.
He hails from Burzaco, a city in Almirante Brown Partido, Buenos Aires Province.
Right-footed, Enrique stands at a diminutive 5 ft 7 in.
Banfield is Enrique’s only club so far having graduated from their academy.
Ramiro Enrique signed his first professional contract with Banfield back in July 2019. He penned a three-year deal with the Estadio Florencio Sola-based club.
It was in 2021 that head coach Javier Sanguinetti promoted Ramiro Enrique to El Taladro‘s first team squad.
On February 12 that year, Enrique was named on Banfield’s bench for the first time.
This was for a Copa de la Liga Profesional match at home to Racing Club.
It was in this game that Ramiro Enrique made his Banfield first team debut as a 73rd minute substitute.
According to Transfermarkt, Ramiro Enrique has made 73 appearances across all competitions in his professional career so far, tallying 12 goals and three assists.
With Orlando City SC having already traded Andrés Perea to free up an U-22 spot, and having yesterday acquired an international roster spot from Portland Timbers, it now appears this was to make way for Ramiro Enrique’s arrival.
When signed, Enrique will become the fourth Argentine on City’s 2023 roster, and the fifth Argentine to represent Orlando City SC in MLS.
