After much anticipation, the new 2025 Orlando City SC away jersey – “The Perfect Storm Kit” – has now officially been unveiled. The release comes prior to a Jersey Launch Event taking place tonight at 1401 Florida Mall Ave, 32809 as part of our “Kickoff to Soccer” activation.
Revealing the new look of our home purple just 10 days before facing Philadelphia Union in our 2025 MLS home opener, The Perfect Storm Kit is our sixth home jersey design in Major League Soccer and will be worn in both the 2025 and 2026 seasons.

The early jersey leak
Unfortunately for our merchandise team, the 2025 Orlando City SC home jersey was leaked online back in December.
On December 11, 2024, FootyHeadlines.com published their own blog about the leak which certainly looked legit to us.
The earliest a City kit has ever been leaked, there sadly isn’t the element of surprise this year.
After the leak, we knew that the latest Adidas design would be featuring reduced gold accents and an all-over storm-inspired pattern, including a hurricane jock tag on the hem.
After previously celebrating themes like the Florida sunshine and The Wall, we quickly learned that Adidas would be drawing inspiration from Florida’s turbulent relationship with tropical cyclones.
A controversial choice, this could be seen as being in poor taste, especially given that Florida was battered by deadly Hurricanes Helene and Milton as recently as September and October 2024.
That said, drawing inspiration from natural disasters isn’t entirely new in North American soccer.
San Jose’s MLS team, San Jose Earthquakes, are the prime example of course.
Oh, baby! Hurricane kit?!
I’m digging it big time. pic.twitter.com/a30ncGarV8

The early jersey tease
After the 2025 Orlando City SC home jersey was leaked, the new kit was first teased proper on February 11.
Orlando City SC simply tweeted the hourglass emoji (⏳) along with a rain soaked graphic featuring the text “2.12.25 – 11 AM”.
It was abundantly clear at this stage that Orlando City SC supporters would be getting a storm-inspired kit.

What’s new?

This year, the 2025 Orlando City SC home jersey takes a bold leap with a striking design unlike any primary shirt in the club’s history.
On first impressions, there is certainly a lot going on!
It’s kiddy, playful, and vibrant.
And certainly not traditional, classic or refined.
While most 2025 MLS jersey designs lack originality, Adidas certainly got their creative juices flowing with ours!
The standout feature is the jersey’s swirling checkerboard pattern of dark and light purple squares.
An in-your-face design, these swirling squares are inspired by the unpredictable force of a Florida storm.
This dynamic motif flows across the entire front and extends seamlessly onto both sleeves, creating a truly eye-catching look.

By incorporating two distinct shades of purple, the 2025 Orlando City SC home jersey draws a subtle connection to the 2021/22 “Thick N Thin” design, which similarly featured a dual-tone purple theme.
Orlando City SC SVP of Brand and Marketing Pedro Araujo said: “This kit is a tribute to our fans who have supported us day in and day out, through everything, rain or shine.

What else is new?
The 2025 Orlando City SC home jersey carries four colours in total – dark purple, light purple, white, and gold.
The iconic three Adidas stripes are now back in white again (not gold) and run part way down the right and left shoulders.
They are a lightweight material on the authentic version of the jersey and fabric on the replica version.
Subtle gold accents add a touch of elegance to the 2025 Orlando City SC home jersey.
They appear on the dark purple and gold round-neck collar, the storm-themed jock tag, and, of course, the club’s iconic crest.
The jersey’s base colour is a dark purple, beautifully complemented by the light purple swirling checkerboard-style storm detailing.
In line with the current MLS jersey templates from Adidas, the design also features two curved vertical lines in light purple.
They extend from the hem halfway up either side of the jersey front.
Another notable detail is an enlarged Adidas logo in white (not gold).
This mirrors the style seen on the 2024 Orlando City SC goalkeeper jerseys.

Other small details
The club’s contemporary Orlando Health sponsor logo appears in crisp white, with a gold (not white) Apple TV logo patch adorning the left sleeve.
For the first time ever, the Apple TV logo patch features a portion of our Lion crest within the apple itself, reflecting this year’s club-specific creative approach to these patches.
Meanwhile, the left sleeve also features the standard MLS patch, showcasing gold lettering and borders against a dark purple and white background.
Last but not least, a new white ‘Adidas Authentic Licensed Product’ patch features on the lower right hem of the jersey.
This patch replaces the previous triangular Adidas authenticity mark used on authentic MLS jerseys in 2023 and 2024.
Despite this update however, authentic MLS jerseys disappointingly continue to feature Adidas’ AEROREADY technology rather than the brand’s premium and more expensive HEAT.RDY technology.

This updated home design sees a round neck retained, just like we saw on The Wall Kit.
Before 2023, three of Orlando City SC’s last four home MLS jerseys featured a V-neck design.
White lettering and numbers (not gold) in the contemporary MLS 25th anniversary font adorn the back of the jersey.
Unique features
As mentioned earlier, this is the first time an Orlando City SC home jersey has featured such an overtly patterned design on the front.
The combination of dark purple and light purple in the swirling checkerboard pattern is truly striking.
This pattern is inspired by the convergence of sea breezes from each coast colliding in skies above Orlando that create an intense Central Florida climate.
For me, it’s an exciting and fresh take on the club’s iconic colours!

Another unique feature is a gold 407 thunderbolt on the rear neckline of the authentic and replica versions of the jersey, complementing the storm-inspired design.

Inspired by doppler radar, a swirling hurricane symbol features as the jock tag on the lower left hem of the jersey, adding to the overall storm theme.
This purple and gold symbol appears on both the authentic and replica versions, tying the entire design together.
This is a really nice finishing touch, especially considering that no jock tag was included on the 2023 Orlando City SC home jersey.

As for The Perfect Storm Kit as a whole, dark purple shorts and dark purple socks with white accents complete the updated home look for Oscar Pareja’s Lions.

Buying in the UK?
To buy the 2025 Orlando City SC home jersey, this is always easier if you’re visiting Central Florida in person.
Currently available to purchase on MLSStore.com, this does involve infamous international shipping costs however.
Unfortunately for Brits, Kitbag.com ceased any updates to their Orlando City SC jersey inventory at the end of 2019.
Since 2021, even Adidas.co.uk and Pro:Direct Soccer haven’t stocked the Thick N Thin jersey, The Sunshine Kit, The Wall Kit or The Legacy Kit.
That said, Classic Football Shirts currently have a good selection of Orlando City SC jerseys available in UK stock.
And this includes the authentic version of The Wall Kit.
Therefore, they may eventually stock The Perfect Storm Kit as well – though it could take some time, with no confirmed details on exactly when.
As always, Orlando City UK will be doing some investigative work.
We’ll be the first to let you know if any British retailer is stocking the 2025 Orlando City SC home jersey.
